Green Goodness with PLANET JOY

planet joy green goodness

We are approaching the time of year when many of us purchase gifts for our loved ones. With that in mind, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the potential we all have to make a positive impact during this season.

When you practice greater discernment while shopping, it can go a long way in regard to your environmental impact. I encourage you to take your time and really do the research to make sure what you're buying and whom you’re buying from are in alignment with your values.

To make your research a little bit easier, below is exactly what environmental good is done when you shop with Planet Joy  :)

P L A N E T  J O Y

  • We search for like minded artists, craftspeople and vendors to create our products.
  • The only plastic we use is the tape used to attach the shipping label to your package. That will be eliminated as soon as we purchase a label printer. Otherwise we use only recycled paper products and 100% compostable corn resin mailing bags.
Carbon Offsets
  • We partner with EcoCart to empower the Planet Joy community to make their orders completely carbon neutral.
  • EcoCart connects us with carbon offset projects that are carefully vetted, ethically proven, and scientifically verified according to the world’s major carbon standards. Over 90% of each dollar put toward this cause goes directly to sustainability projects that plant trees, build wind farms, and more.
  • We calculate how much is needed to offset each order (from production to shipping) on an individual basis.
  • Currently all carbon offsets are going to a Mangrove restoration project in Myanmar. Click here to learn more.
  • To date the Planet Joy community has offset 407 lbs of Co2 with this program. We are grateful for your support in this global effort!

When you support Planet Joy, you are buying products that are created with the well-being of the Earth and all life in mind; you are also helping bring greater awareness to humanity through your support of the Planet Joy website, blogs and newsletters. It is both humbling and a privilege to do this work, and we are grateful for it every day!
